Held on the first Thursday in March at the Walker County Fairgrounds, this is the premier business expo of the year! Over 100 exhibitors showcase products and services to more than 2,000. Sample some of the finest cuisine in town at the Taste of Huntsville.

General Sam Houston’s Birthday and Texas Independence Celebration
Held March 1-2 at Sam Houston Museum, Statue Visitor Center and Oakwood Cemetery.

The Raven Ride
Held in March  and sponsored by the Lions Club, this is a recommended ride for the BP MS 150 Bike Ride to Austin. Hundreds of bikers participate.

36th Walker County Fair, Rodeo & Barbeque Cookoff
Held April 4 to April 12, activities include a barbeque cookoff, pro-rodeo events, livestock exhibits, carnival, contests and dances. (936) 291-8763 /

22nd  Annual Hogs Hunt 50K/25K Trail Run
Held on May 10 at Huntsville State Park, this is great run through the trails of the park.

27th annual General Sam Houston Folk Festival
Held May 2-4, this celebration of the life and times of the Texas hero includes life skill demonstrations of yesteryear, historical characters, food, crafts, music and children’s activities.

11th annual Shot in the Dark golf tournament
Held May 16 at Raven Nest Golf Club, this four-man golf scramble begins with the first nine holes played in the daylight and the last nine played after dark. Glow accessories are provided.

Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church Bazaar
Held  Labor Day Sunday in New Waverly, this all day event includes a bazaar, dinner and dance.

5th  Annual Diva Night
Held on August 14 this is your opportunity for one stop shopping from some of your favorite merchants. It is a ladies only event with beverages and hors d’oeuvres, drawings for door prizes and pamper stations where “girls just wanna have fun!”

11th Annual Huntsville Antique Show

40th annual Fair on the Square
This arts and crafts show, held October 4 on the restored historic downtown square, features entertainment and 300+ vendors.

Dave Boyd Huntsville Classic Mountain Bike Race
Held on October 11-12 at Huntsville State Park, this cross country mountain bike race features Kid’s Kup and Texas Mountain Bike Racing Association Fall cup races.

36th annual Huntsville ½ Marathon & 5K Run/Walk
October 18 at the Kinesiology Center is sponsored by the Seven Hills Running Clubs and supports local charities. Over 500 participants attend.

 Held in November at the Huntsville State Park, this is the second largest trail running event in Texas.

Annual Chamber Gala/Passing of the Gavel
Held in December, this celebration includes silent and live auctions and the passing of the gavel to the new chairman of the board.

Huntsville for the Holidays
The holiday season kicks off on the first weekend in December in the downtown square with an array of holiday festivities throughout the weekend – 5K Run/Walk, Christmas Fair, Parade, Winter in the Park, Historic Home Tours and other family activities.

Christmas in the Pines 5K Run Walk 
 This annual event is held the first Saturday in December withSammy Bearkat and Santa Claus helping to  kick off the holidays.  The event begins and ends at the Health/Kinesiology Center on the campus of Sam Houston State University.

Journey through Bethlehem
December 5-6 - the Walker County Fairgrounds are transformed with the sights and sounds that mimic life in old Bethlehem the night Jesus was born.
